How to send fan mail to John Green
Where do you send fan mail to John Green?
His official site gives two mailing addresses. You can write to John Green, c/o Dutton Books for Young Readers, 1745 Broadway, 17th Floor, New York, NY 10019, or to his P.O. Box 30152, Indianapolis, IN 46230. Both are on the Contact page of johngreenbooks.com, checked October 22, 2026. Pick one; there’s no need to send the same letter to both.
Does John Green reply to fan mail?
No. His Contact page says he does not reply to snail mail and that there are no exceptions, not even for mail from his mom. Write because you want him to read it, and don’t enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope or anything you want returned.
Where do other requests to John Green go?
The same page sends press questions to his publicist, film rights and other money matters to his agent at Writers House, school visits and speaking requests to UTA, and signed-book orders to The Book Cellar in Chicago, which sometimes has a waiting list. A letter is the wrong channel for any of those.
What should a letter to John Green say?
Name the book, whether it’s The Fault in Our Stars, Looking for Alaska, or Turtles All the Way Down, and what changed for you after reading it. Since he won’t write back, the letter is the whole conversation: say the thing you most want him to know, keep it to a page, and end it the way you want it to end.
How do you mail it with IRIS?
Choose either the Dutton address or the Indianapolis P.O. box and enter it as the recipient; each checkout mails to one address. You review the letter, both addresses, and the total, then pay once through Stripe Checkout. A one-page black-and-white letter is $3.20, including printing and USPS First-Class postage.
